Welcome to Franklin Elementary School

Welcome to Franklin Elementary School, home of the Falcons!  Located in the heart of Wausau, we've proudly served families for more than 140 years.   Our school, which serves students in kindergarten through grade 5, is more than just a building -- it's a family!  Here, we believe in the power of partnership, working closely with our families and community partners to create a supportive atmosphere.  We strive to bring joy to learning every single day.

School News

Wausau School District bell with edge

Pending verification, Lance Trollop, Cory Sillars, and Charles Burger will retain their seats.  New member Yauo Y. Yang will join the board, filling the seat vacated by Jennifer Paoli, who did not seek re-election.

Travis Brown

Travis is a third-generation coach for the Warriors, bringing a deep understanding of the program's rich history and a proven track record of success. For the past 11 years, he's been an integral part of the Wausau West hockey team as an assistant coach, contributing to 5 Wisconsin Valley Conference Championships and 4 WIAA State appearances, including a runner-up finish. His dedication extends to other sports too, having spent eight years as head coach of the Wausau Wolfpack High School Lacrosse Team.

Brian Bednarczyk

Brian Bednarczyk has a profound and distinguished career in hockey. Originally from Rothschild, Brian grew up playing hockey in the Wausau area. During his high school career at D.C. Everest, Brian was a 4-year starter on the varsity hockey team and was also selected to play on Team Wisconsin his junior and senior years. After high school, he went on to play two years of junior hockey for Great Falls Americans (Jr. A) and the Peoria Mustangs (Jr. B) before playing NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin - Stout. After college, Brian played for the Mosinee Papermakers for 16 years.
