Welcome Back!

Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year!

Dear Franklin Family,

I hope your time away from school has been filled with joy, family and friends.  Summer always seems to go by just a little bit faster than one expects and suddenly the school year arrives.  The first day of school is just about three weeks away which means there is still time to enjoy a glass of lemonade, game of football or a dip in the pool.  Make the most of the remaining summer because this school year is going to be awesome!

This coming school year Franklin is welcoming four new teachers!  Please join me in welcoming Amanda Emenecker - Kindergarten, Kevin Connaughty – Second Grade, Kelly Wurzer – Third Grade and Peggy Grieser – Fourth Grade.  These four individuals bring a wealth of talent to Franklin and we are fortunate to have them join our educational journey.

In addition to staff changes, the Wausau School District will be implementing a new literacy curriculum designed to meet the needs of every learner while fully supporting educators.  Franklin will also be utilizing itslearning.  This is a learning management system that allows educators and learners to collaboratively work together.  Parents are also able to log into their child’s account to get a real time look at how their child is progressing.

Franklin’s Open House and PTO Cookout will be held on Wednesday, August 26th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.   This is a wonderful time to drop off school supplies, meet school staff, see the building, catch up with old friends and make new friends. During the Open House there will be Information Stations covering a wide variety of topics including Boys and Girls Club, traffic flow, Apple IDs, Food Service, PTO, Blessings in a Backpack and others.  This truly is a great evening and time that is valuable in setting the stage for a school year of partnership, learning and excitement!  It is our sincere hope to have all families attend!

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 1st.   A FREE Breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m., playground supervision starts at 8:15 a.m., classes start at 8:30 a.m. and dismissal at 3:30 p.m.  All Franklin Staff members will be outside on the first day of school to meet and greet all Franklin Falcons.  It is truly going to be fantastic school year and I look forward to seeing everyone!

Sincerely,

Mr. Euting
